2015 | Adventures & Travel

“Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable.” – Mary Oliver

Travel is my biggest joy and favorite hobby! When I’m not traveling (and really, even when I am) I’m constantly dreaming of, and planning my next adventure. There’s something so wonderful and exciting about exploring parts unknown. I would travel full time if I could (and still shoot weddings, of course! Can we make this happen?!)

2015 brought me to some really amazing places on this planet: Door County, Wisconsin (x2, to visit our amazing friends and the best photographers ever, The McCartneys), multiple wintery visits up north, including a trip to explore the frozen ice caves of Lake Superior (which don’t freeze over every year and allow for hiking by foot), San Franscisco/Big Sur/Carmel to shoot the most lovely wedding I could’ve ever imagined, NYC (x4 for more lovely weddings), Las Vegas to celebrate a dear friend’s bachelorette party, the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Chicago (x2 for even more lovely weddings), Norway to celebrate ten years of marriage with my husband (including a 4 day stopover in the Lofoten Islands north of the arctic circle- my first time experiencing midnight sun and 24 hours of daylight!), Budapest and a road/cycling trip through Hungary, Slovenia, Northern Italy, and Austria, Boston (for engagement shoots and to visit good friends), a road trip through Portugal and Spain for my 3rd annual solo birthday trip, and finally Maui to ring in New Year’s with my hubby and two of our best friends. What a year. Couple that with a year full of beautiful weddings; what more could a girl ask for?! I don’t have much planned for 2016 (yet), but that just leaves lots of room for spontaneity.
