Even though I live on Oahu, I LOVE traveling to the other beautiful Hawaiian islands to capture my clients sessions, elopements, and weddings! Whenever I have work on other islands, I fly in extra early to scout new spots and revisit my tried-and-true locations too. I’m constantly exploring! Each of the islands is so unique and it’s such a blessing to get to experience them all! I love sharing these beautiful spots with my clients and capturing their special vacation memories.
When mom, Kate, reached out to me, we talked about her vision for her session. We decided on this secluded beach on the Big Island near the Four Seasons Hualalai where this adorable family was spending their vacation! The west coast of the Big Island from Kona all the way up to Waikaloa has endless options, most with a variety of sandy beaches, black lava rock, and swaying palm trees. This spot was no exception. But the best part of this coastline is the direct sunset views! I swear, sunsets on the Big Island just hit different. They’re typically so colorful and dramatic and somehow more vast! Kinda indescribable, actually!
Mahalo to the Underwoods for tagging along, and trusting me with their family photos!
As we neared the end of the session, we were blessed with the most amazing cotton candy sunset. There’s just something special about sunsets on the Big Island – they’re so incredible!
