Makapu’u Lookout family photography

Meet the adorable Moffett family! Mama, Iryna, wanted photos of her precious babies here in Hawaii to remember their family vacation. The kids were absolutely the sweetest, so smiley, and I was so honored to capture this session for them.

After discussing what they were looking for, we decided on gorgeous Makapu’u as the backdrop for their family photos. Makapu’u is one of my favorite spots to shoot because there is so much variety packed into a small area. We have the gorgeous cliffs of the lookout, with sweeping dramatic views of the beach below. This is the perfect place to start any session at this location as the sun rises over the horizon and we get the prettiest colors in the sky!

Then a short 1-2 minute drive to the beach below and you have a wide, sandy beach, tons of lava rock, little islands in the distance, palm tree – this location really has it all! As a bonus, we usually get the beach all to ourselves!

After a week on Oahu, the Moffetts also spent a week on Maui. Such an incredible trip and I hope these photos will help them to remember this time together forever.
