Makapu’u Lookout & Beach Elopement on Oahu

MAKAPUU BEACH ELOPEMENT PHOTOGRAPHER

Kei & Yuki traveled all the way from Japan for a photoshoot and elopement here on beautiful Oahu! When Kei she said she wanted super romantic and dreamy photos, I knew we would be the perfect fit. Since this couples lives all the way across an ocean (like most of my clients do!) we planned their session via email. Kei sent pictures of her dress (so gorgeous!) and I got more and more excited in the months that lead up to their session.

We discussed lots of potential locations, hikes, adventures, and ideas, but we ultimately decided Makapu’u Lookout and Beach would be the perfect mix of dramatic cliff views, green mountains, and white sand beaches surrounded by black lava rock. Kei and Yuki booked extra time so we could get even more variety! We ended their session at Eternity Beach, otherwise known as Cockroach Cove, where we climbed down to the little bay and splashed in the water at sunset.

After the session, Kei had this to say:

“Thank you very, very much for working with us. This was our first photo shoot ever, and it was more than what we imagined. It was a lot of fun working with you, a good time discovering the beautiful sides of Oahu, and I also felt like it was something that really tied Yuki and I together. Truth be told, Yuki was at first a little bit apprehensive of the whole photo shoot thing. Not to say he doesn’t enjoy being photographed but he didn’t understand why I was so into it. But now that he’s seen the outcome – he’s said to me that he is really glad he did this with me and glad that we chose you, who captured us at our natural state! It’s a huge WIN for me. :)”
