The Williams Family | Ka’ena Point

KA’ENA POINT FAMILY SESSION

I first met the Williams family back in Minneapolis, when they were a family of two. Soon Marianna came along, and I met her when she was just a curly haired toddler. Now’s she 8, traveled more than most people will in their lifetimes and lived in some really beautiful places. The military has taken them to Europe, around the mainland, and now here to Oahu.

If you would’ve told me ten years ago that we’d all be living in Hawaii, I would’ve thought you were crazy. But life is wild like that, and we find ourselves in the same tiny dot of an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!

Sadly, the Williams will be leaving soon (sad for me, not sad for them – on to the next adventure!!), so we wanted to commemorate their time in Hawaii with a photo session at one of their favorite spots, Ka’ena Point. Ka’ena Point is on the far western tip of Oahu, past the end of the very last road. It’s surrounded by gorgeous green mountains. They love hiking out to the point, enjoying the vistas, and watching for monk seals. They also love family picnics on the beach, so Miranda gathered lots of yummy goodies from Whole Foods and after our hike, we ended their session with sunset at Yokohama Bay.

To Miranda, Weston, and Marianna: thank you for trusting me with your precious family memories many times throughout the years. I’m excited for wherever life takes you next and I hope we’ll cross paths again soon!
