North Shore Family Session at Sunset

NORTH SHORE FAMILY SESSION

Meet the beautiful Marshall Ohana! Mom, Ila, is a fellow photographer and I was so honored when she reached out to book this special session celebrating her & Josh’s ten year wedding anniversary! Of course, their adorable son Liam tagged along too and brought lots of personality, smiles, and laughs to the session! We made sure to get a nice mix of family photos, but also photos of just mom & dad to celebrate this incredible milestone.

The Marshalls reside on Oahu, so we wanted to come up with the perfect location to show off their island home. We settled on this remote North Shore location, as it has beautiful mountain backdrops, lots of greenery, and of course, beautiful beaches with lots of rock outcroppings for visual interest. Sunset was the perfect time of day to catch the sun dropping below the mountains in the distance and to get that ethereal, glowing light.

The night of their session, the weather was interesting. We had lots of sun, but also a burst of rain. This family was total troopers and rode out the rain under umbrellas. Luckily, we waited it out because it cleared up quickly and the sky turned to gorgeous pastel colors.

Ila, Josh, and Liam, thank you for choosing me and trusting me to capture these sweet memories of this special time in your lives! Happy ten years!
