Gerry proposed to Hilary after a whirlwind fall weekend in New England. They drove from Boston, through New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, enjoying the beautiful landscape filled with fall colors. Of course, they didn’t want to the weekend to end, and little did Hilary realize the best part was still to come after their flight home. As soon as they returned to their apartment in Houston, Hilary was welcomed to a home full of flowers, candles, and the couple’s song on repeat. Gerry told Hilary that home was wherever they were together and got down on one knee to propose.
The planning began and the couple decided to get married in Hilary’s home state. Though they are planning from afar, and we didn’t get a chance to meet in person before they chose me to be their wedding photographer, I felt like an old friend the second we finally met for their engagement session. Hilary and Gerry are just genuinely joyful people and together they’re just the sweetest. We greeted each other with big hugs, and for the next hour or two it was non-stop conversation about dating, weddings, life, and everything in between, laughing from start to finish. When I can connect with my couples and they trust me to let me in, that’s when the photos really get to the heart of them, and represent their love.
Thank you for Hilary and Gerry, for the amazing evening and the delish dinner and cocktails afterwards at one of my new favorite restaurants, Alma. I’m already counting the days until October!
