SUNRISE ENGAGEMENT SESSION OAHU

Meet Aydin and Allison! Aydin contacted me prior to his and Allison’s trip to Oahu. He was planning to propose on Oahu, and while he wanted a private proposal, he wanted to surprise Allison with photos after the fact to celebrate their Hawaiian engagement!

I couldn’t have had more fun with this stunning couple. Engagements are one of my fav things to photograph because it’s just such an incredibly exciting time in your lives. Giddy in love, planning a wedding, and a life together…. it’s so special! Engaged couples just radiate with a special glow and it’s makes my job as a photographer so dang fun!

Aydin and Allison choose a sunrise session, and we started off at Sandy Beach on Oahu’s southeast coast. Sandy’s has dramatic waves and a direct view of sunrise, for that morning golden hour! Starting out so early, we pretty much have the beach to ourselves and the temps are usually cooler too.

After shooting at Sandy Beach, it was time for a change of scenery, and we did a quick hike down to one of my favorite locations, Cockroach Cove. You may also hear this beach referenced as Halona Cove or Eternity Beach. It’s a gorgeous little secluded cove, just a short (but kinda steep) jaunt down from a parking lot. The morning light is absolutely magical here and the beach is usually empty around sunrise time. See below!

Allison changed into a second look (another stunner by Reformation) and we further explored Cockroach Cove. There’s even a super cool little cave in the rocks that makes for some dramatic photos!

I’m always down to frolic in the water if you are! Aydin and Allison were so cute splashing around!
