Big Island Family session at Mauna Kea Resort

Though I’m based on the island of Oahu; the most populated of the Hawaiian Islands with Honolulu and famous Waikiki, I love traveling every chance I get. I feel so grateful and fortunate when clients chose me to capture their outer island sessions! And, though it’s impossible to pick favorites, the Big Island is quickly becoming my favorite! The variety of landscapes the varying scenery is simply out of this world. It feels like there is always something new to discover there. You can read about some of my favorite spots on the Big Island here.The Failey family reached out when they were searching for a film photographer to capture their special trip to the Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island. The Mauna Kea is an amazing resort, north of Kona, and features those gorgeous sunsets you think of when you think of a sunset in Hawaii! I loved meeting this sweet family that consisted of Grandpa and Grandma, their two daughters, and their husbands and little boys! Boys are always full of energy, and these three cutie pie brothers & cousins were no exception! In addition to taking photos we took time to explore the tide pools, shells, and lava rocks lining the coast.
