GETTING READY BRIDAL LOOKS
Getting ready is one of the best parts of the wedding day! As every bride knows, you put so much time and effort into your bridal look. For most women, their bridal gown is the most significant garment purchase of their lives. We dream about the perfect dress, and spend so much time researching and selecting the one. Lots of thought also goes into hair, makeup, the shoes, the accessories. So why not treat yourself to a fun outfit for the morning of your wedding too? Something pretty to wear while getting your hair and makeup done. There are usually lots of photographs of this time of day (you can read my post dedicated to getting ready here), and a fun look for you (and perhaps your bridesmaids) is the icing on the cake!
I pulled together some of my favorite finds to inspire you for your own big day:
As the most expensive option on this list, this lace robe is definitely a splurge, but how pretty would you feel wearing this on the morning of your wedding? The delicate, floral chantilly lace is heavenly and would photograph like a dream!
Who says you have to wear white? This soft blush toned satin robe, with French lace trim is elegant and versatile. I think it could be worn as lounge wear well beyond the wedding day. It’s also fully opaque for a more modest bride who doesn’t want to wear sheer or lace. Anthropologie has tons of beautiful options for robes and sleepwear.
Don’t want to wear a robe? Rompers are a fun option too! This boho option with a plummeting neckline and crocheted lace is sexy, but still appropriate to wear with your girls. It feels young, fun, and flirty and would be a great surprise for the groom on the honeymoon too.
I discovered Eberjey years ago when I photographed a lot of boudoir work, and I fell in love with their delicate, high quality lingerie and sleepwear. This fun chemise adds color, and can double as your “something blue.”
Pretty Plum Sugar is one of the most popular options out there. I see their robes all the time and they are absolutely gorgeous and affordable. There are lots of color, trim, and length options, but I think this little hint of tropical color is perfect for a Hawaii bride! Because Pretty Plum Sugar has so many options, you can also outfit your bridesmaids in complementing or matching robes.
Etsy does it again. I scoured tons of gorgeous, handmade options and this one from Australian designer, Le Rose, looks incredible. This designer has stellar reviews from lots of happy brides and offers different styles if you prefer something shorter.
This handmade robe is a splurge, but isn’t your wedding day worth it? As pictured here with a bra and undies, it might be a little revealing for some brides, but I think it would look really cute with a simple cream satin chemise underneath. There are lots of beautiful options on Etsy, and bonus that you can support an artist or maker.
A fun, non-robe option and I love the burst of floral color for a Hawaii destination wedding! The lace trim adds just a little touch of bridal. The cami/shorts set is cute and playful and would make for great loungewear when you’re settling into life back home after the wedding.
This is a great, affordable option for ladies on a budget. (Because who isn’t?!) You can customize the sash with your future last name and I think without the sash, this could make a fun swim cover too for your post-wedding days in Hawaii.
This is the robe I picture when I think of classic bridal! This long sleeved option is still light and airy. Perfect for those warm Hawaii days. Sexy but elegant. And perfect for lounging around the hotel room on your honeymoon.
